La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park
The Zona Volcànica de la Garrotxa Natural Park is the finest example of a volcanic landscape on the Iberian Peninsula featuring around forty volcanic cones. The mountainous terrain, soil and climate furnish a varied, often lush vegetation including holm oak, oak and beech forests such as the Fageda d’en Jordà. The Natural Park hosts several hiking trails running through its most enthralling sites.
From 16 March, the Santa Margarida car park will have paid parking: weekends and public holidays until the end of the year and, also, during the entire month of August.
Although the Can Serra car park in La Fageda d’en Jordà is now open, the recommended alternative continues to be the use of the new RUMBUS bus line, and, when this is not possible, the other car parks in the Natural Park.
