Park only in designated car parks
Despite the lower traffic found on the trails or paths of some natural areas, not every spot where a vehicle can fit is suitable for parking. Doing so can have an impact on the environment and disrupt the coexistence with other people and activities taking place in the area.
Problems it can cause
Parking in designated areas will facilitate visitor control, allowing us to enjoy the space in an organised and responsible manner.
If you park on the sides of roads or forest roads, you may promote overcrowding of the space and block the passage of emergency vehicles and potentially agricultural and forestry machinery.
Furthermore, grassy or pasture areas, which may seem suitable for parking, are often privately owned for agricultural purposes, and parking there can result in crop loss for the property owner.
Best practices
Enjoy natural spaces in a more respectful and organised manner:
- Park only in designated parking areas and ensure that you do not obstruct the entry or exit of vehicles.
- Visit natural areas with as few vehicles as possible. This will take up less space in parking areas, save you money and reduce emissions.
- Make sure you park in a way that allows the passage of emergency vehicles and potential agricultural and forestry machinery.
- Learn about and adhere to the Law regulating motorised access to natural areas.
- Before planning your trip, find out about designated parking areas and whether they require prior reservations or payment.
