RNP Medes Islands
The Medes Islands are seven islets which make up a landscape of outstanding beauty, unique in Catalonia. The land environment, an integrated reserve which cannot be visited, is a huge refuge for birds, while the sea environment makes them exceptional, including walls of coral, seagrass meadows and underwater caves and tunnels.
It is a partial nature reserve which can be experienced on a boat trip, underwater excursions, snorkelling tours and in a wide range of activities run by the businesses licensed to operate in the Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park.
Anchoring is regulated. Dropping anchor here is prohibited. Boats have to moor at one of the anchor buoys and pay the fee on the spot to the staff on the boat designated for this purpose. It is recommended to consult the information and warnings before visiting the natural area.
