The Riera de Merlès Protected Natural Area is a river system in which very rare wildlife is preserved. This stream is one of the last tributaries of the Llobregat basin where the ecological quality of the water is still good. The area is home to rare forests such as willow and alder groves. Land and river wildlife is also outstanding. The area is well known for its pools and hiking trails.
A dedicated team with environmental informants will ensure responsible and orderly access to the protected natural areas and the gorges and river areas most often frequented during the summer. In this way, we aim to guarantee the right both to recreation and the protection of the environment.
