The personality of the Guilleries-Savassona Natural Area lies in a landscape dominated by Central European and Mediterranean forests and shaped by bare rocky crags. The human footprint is recognisable in many traditional activities which are still going on today and in the ubiquitous Sau reservoir which flooded the village of Sant Romà de Sau and changed the area’s scenery. You can swim in the reservoir and also do water sports such as kayaking.
On Saturday 22 June, the Consortium of the Guilleries-Savassona Natural Space begins the regulation of motorised access to the recreation area of the Sau Reservoir this summer. The measure, which is being carried out for the fourth year running, will be in operation on weekends in June and July, every day in August and weekends in September until 11 September. Afterwards, there will be environmental information staff available on weekends and public holidays in September, October, November and December until December 8.
The natural space has a series of equipment and information points to facilitate the public’s visit and provide quality services. It works for its correct maintenance, its improvement and the provision of new infrastructures that complete and improve visitor services and research and conservation tasks.

Protected natural spaces are places with publicly and privately owned land where you can practice outdoor activities and learn about the natural and cultural heritage individually or in company.
In doing so, it is necessary to respect the nature and tranquillity of the surroundings, avoid unnecessary noise and respect the agricultural and livestock activities, since they are the means of living of many of the owners and inhabitants of the Park, and also the heritage architectural and artistic that we find there.
Consult the activities offered by the natural area.
