Ebro Delta Natural Park
The Ebro Delta Natural Park is the largest wetland in Catalonia. The Delta is where river, land and sea meet up, fashioning a patchwork of lagoons, beaches, sandbars, rice fields and bays. It is of particular interest due to its biodiversity and also because of its heritage associated with the ways of life which have traditionally capitalised on this unique area.
The regulation of motorised vehicle access to the various areas of the Park, which began in 2021, is being consolidated with the regulation of parking (paid and free), reinforcement of information, presence of civic agents, etc. La Ràpita Municipal Council is once again implementing the regulation of motorised vehicle access to El Trabucador beach. The aim of this measure is to guarantee adequate traffic management and avoid vehicle build-up in this natural space. It includes the provision of services, the limited entry of vehicles and the regulation of parking with the implementation of several parking bags, this year for free.
Parking will be allowed from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. only, and driving and parking overnight (from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.) will be prohibited. Motorised vehicle access is authorised up to the first 2 km of the El Trabucador beach. After that, access is permitted by bicycle or on foot.
Eucaliptus Beach (Amposta)
The main sand track has been marked with poles and ropes in order to direct the passage of vehicles and organise the car park. The main objective is to protect the natural vegetation in this space. The Amposta Municipal Council will enforce the regulations with two officers during the summer.
As in other areas of the Park, overnight stays are not permitted.
La Marquesa beach, Punta del Fangar and Bassa d’Arena beach (Deltebre)
At La Marquesa beach and at Bassa d’Arena, Deltebre Municipal Council keeps two parking areas open which will have paid parking during July, August and September.
Remember that access to Punta del Fangar and its picturesque lighthouse must be made on foot. The area is marked for nesting purposes. Dogs must be taken on a leash. It is not allowed to cross freely in the middle of the El Fangar peninsula.
Migjorn i Serrallo Beach (Sant Jaume d’Enveja)
Marking the area with poles and ropes to protect the natural vegetation, regulate vehicle traffic and organise the car park. Informative signage with details of natural values has been strengthened.
Reinforcement of information in the main seabird breeding colonies.
Three wooden huts have been installed at the entrance to Buda Island, El Garxal and at the entrance to El Fangar. There will be staff during the weekends of April until 31 July to provide information about the values of the area and about the Ebro delta in general.
